Join us on this fun and informative online tour as we take you on a virtual journey around the beautiful campus of Liverpool John Moores University.
There are, in fact, 3 campuses and 44 buildings associated with this highly sought-after University. On this tour, you will have the opportunity to ask your local qualified Blue Badge Tourist Guides to take you to your preferred departments, or to take in a more generalised feel of campus.
We will explore several facets of student life in Liverpool on this tour. There are around 26,000 students enrolled in Liverpool John Moores University and there are many facilities; including sports, swimming, and many clubs and societies; to make student life vibrant. In this University, the students study and typically live in the City Centre, with its tremendous mix of brand new buildings as well as former banks, hotels and even a huge Postal Sorting Office in the process of being converted into student accommodation. There are also not one but two cathedrals, there are mosques, synagogues and other denominations represented in the immediate vicinity of the campus.
You can also see the social side of life in Liverpool as we pass through the Georgian Quarter. As one of us is a former student of the university, and given that our own son is also currently a student here, we are well positioned to answer most questions.

Meet your Host
Neil & Claire
Neil McDonald and Claire Rider are both Liverpool Blue Badge Tourist Guides who have been running the original Liverpool Beatles Walk every day for the last 7 years. Neil was the Head of Customer Service for a telecommunications company and Claire was a Marketing Manager. However, they both discovered their real vocation and each other when they trained together for two years as tour guides in 2013. Neil & Claire both know the owners of the Cavern Club really well, they speak regularly to Roag Best and take guests to his family home 'The Casbah'. Many other Beatles legends are still around on Penny Lane and they know the original Quarry-men, Beatles authors, and even John Lennon's half-sister. Everyone in Liverpool works extremely hard to keep the story real. They are both licensed driver/guides with a beautiful V-Class Mercedes and are usually busy showing guests all around the UK on luxury multi-day tours. They love their jobs and will really help you put all the Beatles locations into context. Claire is often singing and extremely theatrical, and Neil knows an absolute wealth of interesting facts. Neil was once guiding visitors around the corner on a Beatles Tour and there was Paul McCartney who even agreed to have his photo taken with the clients!
