Matt

I was born and raised in Sydney, and passionate about Australia's natural landscape, flora and fauna. I’ve spent my weekends and holidays discovering the hidden jewels located on the edge of Sydney. I'm a passionate nature and wildlife tour guide by profession. I also have a background in exploring and making documentaries on the Australian wilderness.

Matt gave us an interesting tour of a wooded area outside Sydney. He showed us plants and caves and talked about the birds and animals that live there. The tour took place in a radius of maybe 100 meters. That made it possible to get a vivid picture of what the area was like. (We had the sense of "being there," which was exactly what we wanted.) Matt's knowledge of the area is extremely deep. He did a very good job.

The most comforting wilderness tour I have been on!
Perfect for those who have always been keen on checking out the wilderness but too afraid to venture out. Appreciate Matt for his ingenious ideas and effort in making our experience as real as can be (you have to see it for yourself to know what i mean)

  • My group recently did a virtual tour with Matt all the way from America (in my case, I'm in Florida)! It was about 10am his time and 7pm our time - I settled in with some locally-purchased Australian wine (to get in the spirit!) and watched as Matt roamed around the bush, detailing local flora and fauna and describing both original, Aboriginal and current inhabitants. We were able to see a full shot of the terrain he was viewing with a "pic in pic" of his face, describing it. Let me say that I didn't imagine a "web call" could be so much fun! Our group of friends and colleagues got to ask questions and interact (either via voice or text) live! If we saw something interesting - we'd ask and just like on a live tour, he could answer immediately. It made the adventure so engaging and I never had to even get on a plane to go there or walk around in hiking boots (haha!)! It was so interesting listening to a local guide, who grew up in this beautiful area, enthusiastically show you the sights. Matt was great - very personable, funny, and knowledgeable - but mostly down-to-earth and relatable. I would definitely do another tour like this with this company! If you can't get there in person, then try the virtual tour - we had a great time, half way around the world!

  • I joined Matt's tour with about 6 other people. It was fantastic! I went in not knowing what to expect, but from the moment Matt got on camera and started talking, we were all captivated. I learnt so much about the Australian nature. Matt showed us native plants such as gum trees, native irises and kangaroo tails. He spoke about how
Aboriginal people used plant parts for medicinal purpose and making tools. Matt found a huge termite nest and ate a termite in front of us!! The view was spectacular and it felt very special to see cliffs, caves, views and carvings that very few people would get a chance to. It felt like I was right there in the wilderness. At one point during our tour Matt met a young man who was hiking and got lost. As we all watched, Matt led him to the right path out of
the forest before we resumed our tour. This stuff isn't scripted or planned - it was amazing for us to meet and "help" the lost hiker! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see what the Australian "bush" is all about, and have a knowledgeable and fun tour guide to talk you through it (and eat termites on your behalf).

  • Thank's so much for our journey through Australia's wilderness. We really enjoyed our virtual hike and learned a lot too. Would love to come to Australia and do your "real" tour one day.

  • Hi Matt, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your tour of the wild bush. You have a natural way that draws people in. I was interested in all the plants that are unfamiliar to us here. You had lots of interesting facts about the caves and carvings etc. I felt like I was there. I even liked the car ride. Thank you for sharing this with us. Nice to meet you.

  • We so enjoyed our virtual online tour with Matt. He has such a warm and genuine personality. We learned about various native plants, trees, birds, aboriginal history and saw beautiful cliffs and caves. He really packed a lot into our time together! I think kids and adults alike would enjoy this virtual getaway to Australia. Many thanks to Matt for giving us the chance to “travel” and experience a bit of Australia’s charm without leaving our home!

  • So here’s the thing about Matt and his interactive tours...the minute he starts heading out into the bush (forest), he’s in his element. And his enthusiasm is contagious. He showed me and my girlfriend everything: wildlife, caves, explained the historical significance of this beautiful part of the world. He even stopped at a tree and ate some termites like the Aboriginals use to! Matt loves his little corner of paradise. And it shows. Loved it

  • Excellent tour. Matt is very knowledgeable and has a genuine concern for the area. We also watched him help a lost hiker find his way out of the bush.

  • Really amazing virtual experience! I actually felt like I was in Australia! Matt has a great story telling personality and answers every question. He's excited about the areas he's taking you in and that excitement is contagious! I'd do this again and again!

  • Spent my Friday night on a virtual tour with Matt and several of my
work colleagues here in the U.S. - a cool way to visit the Sydney
area without having to spend a day traveling just to get there! Matt
was early for the tour and got to chat before the group all joined -
very personable and obviously loves what he's doing. We "trekked"
around and saw some cool caves, Aboriginal carvings, and gorgeous
scenery ... and a brief interlude from a kookaburra. We were
scheduled for an hour but actually got a bonus 30 minutes. Only
reason not a 5-star is no visits with local wildlife - not Matt's
fault but was hoping for a virtual squeeze of a wallaby or a 'roo.
Recommend Matt's services though ... and when I do make it to
Australia, I'll be looking Matt up for a more personal tour.
