Description
In this Online Experience, we will walk around the epicentre of the Japanese design and fashion area. This district consists of 3 different areas: Harajuku, Urahara, and Omotesando.
Harajuku is a paradise for teenagers, filled with ‘kawaii’, cute in Japanese, and eccentric fashion and colourful sweets. There are also various kinds of animal cafes, where we can spend time with hedgehogs, cats, ‘Shibainu’ dogs, etc.
As we walk around the Main Street, called Takeshita-Dori, you will notice how full of energy it is given the number of teenagers who frequent it.
We will then make our way to the other side of Meiji-Dori avenue, where an old residential area known as Urahara is located. This area features small art galleries, tattoo shops, and vintage shops renovated from old apartments amongst a maze of charming lanes. Together, we will find some old restaurants favoured by the locals and admire the interesting mix of the old and the new.
After wandering around the maze, majestic Omotesando street will appear in front of you - one of the most exciting parts of our tour. We will walk under the stately zelkova trees that line this street famous for its fashion brand stores. The storefronts designed by world-leading architects are a melange of styles, giving this street the title of "the Japanese Champs-Elysees".
