This real-time streaming Online Experience will take you through the history, culture and traditions of Cividale del Friuli, Italia Langobardorum UNESCO site since 2011.
We will start our virtual walk from the Old Railway Station, built during the 19th century, and it was used by the Italian soldiers in World War I to reach the battlefields. Walk along a City Park and explore one of the four Boroughs that belong to the Medieval City Center, Borgo San Pietro. On the next leg of our tour, we will visit the old Forum Iulii (marketplace of Julius), the name given by the Romans to Cividale and was founded by Julius Cesar in the 1st century B.C. It was a significant location along the riverside and became an important commercial site in a short time.
Our next stop will be the Devil’s Bridge. Why is it called the Devil’s Bridge? Make a guess; if you follow my guided tour, then you will get the right answer. Finally, we will pass through the Cathedral, and while strolling along the shopping street, Corso Mazzini, we will reach Piazza Paolo Diacono, the Square with many nice cafes, bars, etc...

I am an official tour guide of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the eastern Italian region closed to the Austrian and Slovenian border. I grew up here, studied at the University of Triest foreign language. Later, I decided to move abroad for some years, but then I wanted to come back to my “roots”, and now my passion is to share the tradition, history, culture, habits of this area with my guests.
What do I like most? The authenticity of this place, not overcrowded but still as it was in the past, greeting a local is an experience itself. Cividale del Friuli is my favourite destination because it is possible to have a unique experience in this small town by looking at the historical buildings, the interesting handicraft shops, or people watching while sitting in the Main Square. I think this place deserves a visit.
