Description

Join me on this riveting Online Experience to get to know the history and culture of Seville, the capital of southern Spain and one of the most charming and fun cities in Europe. Here, you will uncover authentic local culture mixed in with the impressive architecture and incredible urban scenery, which showcases Seville's millenary history.
We will start in the heart of the old Jewish quarter in the neighbourhood of Santa Cruz, a labyrinth of narrow streets and lovely little plazas where a legend hides behind every corner. We will move on then to the Cathedral of Seville. Built in the 15th century upon the ruins of the great Arabic mosque, the Cathedral is an unparalleled achievement of Gothic architecture and remains one of the world's largest Christian temples to this day. Next to it stands the Giralda, a graceful and iconic tower that greatly influenced US architecture - the how and why of which you will learn about from me in course of this tour!

We will then arrive at the Royal Palace of the Alcazar, a masterpiece of Mudejar architecture which blends Muslim, Jewish and Christian traditions. After admiring the elegance of the Archivo de Indias, which houses the largest collection of documents related to the colonial history of the Americas; we will walk towards the banks of the Guadalquivir River to finish off this experience. There are many other sights to behold in Seville that we will marvel at along our way, and I will regale you with facts and stories that will help bring the city alive for you in new and unique ways throughout our time together.

I look forward to taking you around Seville soon!

Meet your Host
Nicolas Rodriguez

I was born and raised in Seville, where I acquired my love for old books and obscure maps. I travelled the world from Lisbon to Manila in my younger years, studying the history of the Spanish empire and the origins of global trade.
I then came back home to sunny Seville. I took up the ancient art of story-telling as an official guide, entertaining travellers from all around the world with tales about poet-kings and honey thieves, orange trees and ceramic tiles, lost libraries and wayward nuns. It is truly a privilege to share my passion for this city and its history with you!
