Description
Evora, a museum city, offers monuments that belong to several periods of Portuguese history. Considered the second most important city of the kingdom in the 16th century, it serves today as the capital of the Alentejo region.
On this live-streamed, interactive Online Experience, we will discover the fascinating architectural and cultural sights this city has to offer, starting with a visit to the most important symbol of Evora: the Roman Forum. Here, I will show you around the famed Temple of Diana and the Pousadas Hotel before moving on to the Evora Museum & Library. Our next stop will be the St. Mary's Cathedral, which will be followed by a walk down the narrow streets of the city, during which period we will admire its typical handicrafts and traditional sweets while discussing its historical and cultural evolution.
The second phase of our tour will take us to the Praca do Giraldo in the heart of the city, where we will get to admire the Romanesque-Gothic fortress church and fountain. After a visit to the monastery of San Francis, which is a remarkable testimony of the architectural evolution achieved by the the so-called Manuelino period in the 15th century, we will make our way to the unique Chapel of Bones. The chapel is one of the most well-known attractions in Evora, and will serve as the perfect place to end our tour on a memorable note.

Veronica Chinca
I was born in Italy, in a family connected to tourism. From a young age, I had a special bond with this job, thanks to my father. I came with my family to live in Evora when I was eight years old. My academic education began in 1996 in Estoril – ESHTE – and I started to work in 2000. I had an extended career as a travel agent, but in 2014 I decided to dedicate only and exclusive to my original job, guiding. It is my pleasure to show you all the little details of this wonderful city museum and the Region Alentejo.
