Description
Celje is adorned with thousands of festive lights to welcome Santa Claus, dwarves, fairies, and wondrous heroes in December. Christmas dreams come true among the fairy-tale houses of the Christmas market, open-air concerts, horse and carriage rides, ambrosial potions, and exquisite delicacies. See the oldest hotel in Slovenia, the railway station and the statue of Alma Karlin. You will see a big Christmas wreath as we walk towards the city centre. As we pass through the main square, you will also learn about "Troia Secunda" or Second Troy- that was the nickname of the roman city Celeia. We will also see the parish Church of St. Daniel, the museum of Celje, the Church of St.Mary and the Lower Castle.
