Know before you go
- Please arrange for vodka and some appetizers/chasers, preferably pickles, sour cabbage, marinated/cured mushrooms, or cured herring prior to the session
- At times the mobile network may be intermittent, and the picture may not be clear. However, we will attempt to minimize such disruptions

I've been a tour guide for 15 years already, doing a wide variety of tours starting from Walking tours around St. Petersburg to battlefield tours of the Winter War and the Siege of Leningrad. I am also able to provide visa waivers to cruise passengers and the Nevsky Bridgehead and tour of the Political History Museum.

We had a really nice session with Alexander who explained how Russians drink vodka. What was interesting is that he managed to hold our attentions on a zoom call where all us were in different parts of the world. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of vodka, traditional accompaniments and all the various stories including getting to know that for many years we drank the worst possible vodka :-). Perfect combo of info and fun.

A bunch of us friends booked the tour together, and we had a great time. Alex was extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture around vodka drinking. He managed to provide even the most seasoned vodka drinkers amongst us with something they didn't know. It was like hanging out with a new friend over a drink. Something you would never get to do when you actually visit a place with family- when the holiday gets taken over by sightseeing etc. This was really laid back and felt like you were there in St Petersburgh, in the comfort however of your home.
