Description
- The tour starts at the place where architect Joseph Plecnik was born, on Slovenska Cesta. His birth house is not there anymore; it was turned down in order to build a new big living block, but there's a column with a sign. At that place, we wil give general information about the architect, and we will put him into a historical frame.
- Then, we will go on the way to the Summer festival place, which used to be a monastery but was the same as clothes for us.
- We continue on Vegova street, which is from the beginning to the end part of UNESCO World Heritage because the whole street was redesigned by Plecnik. We will see markers showing us where remains from the Roman period are, as well as where the edge of the medieval town was (New square). Then we got to the Congress square, again redesigned by architect Plecnik. We will mention some buildings surrounding the square and the Castle of Ljubljana, as we have nice views and to tell the story related to the Triple bridge.
- Then, we go down to the center of the town, giving basic information about Preseren Square, explaining why there are 3 bridges next to each other and telling the same stories, if necessary, answering the questions.
- We will walk and cross the bridge, telling about the part of the Central Market, which was built by Plecnik, we'll walk along the colonnade and finish our tour either at the Bucher's or Dragon's Bridge.
