Description

Tel Aviv - the “other capital” of Israel is the financial, cultural and social centre of the state. Our virtual tour will start in the historic Neve Tzedek neighbourhood, one of Tel Aviv’s oldest districts but has become increasingly fashionable in recent years. Built in 1887, Neve Tzedek was the first Jewish neighbourhood outside the walls of the ancient port city of Jaffa. We will explore this unique part of the city with its oriental architecture, chic atmosphere and many tales.
Our tour begins at the Suzanne Dellal Center, that is today Tel Aviv's official dance center and home of the renowned Bat-Sheva dance company. Originally this was the educational centre of the neighbourhood and meeting place for the people. Among the other notable buildings, you will see during our walkthrough Neve Tzedek, are the Rokach House, the Nachum Gutman Museum, and the Clouche House - the first Jewish home built outside of Jaffa.
From Neve Tzedek, we will continue exploring the story, architecture and history of Tel Aviv. And also, we will touch on the events that led to the establishment of the state of Israel and the creation of the first modern Jewish city in the world - Tel Aviv. Our tour will take us to the “White City” district - announced as a UNESCO world heritage site in 2003. Tel Aviv has a collection of thousands of Bauhaus (International Style) buildings built during the 1930s and the 1940s. The functional Bauhaus architecture created a cohesive urban landscape unparalleled in the world. Finally, we will reach our last but most important stop, the place where the state of Israel was announced, and a new and exciting chapter in our history began.
