Description

Join me on this live-streamed Online Experience to explore Lecce, also known as 'the Grand Dame of Puglia' and 'the Florence of the South' because of its exquisite beauty.

We will begin our virtual from Naples Gate, and stroll down the charming streets of the city to see some of its most popular landmarks: the Obelisk, Palmieri Street, Duomo Square, Vittorio Emanuele Street, the Roman Theater, the Roman Amphitheatre, St. Oronzo Square, St. Irene Church, and the Celestini Building. Each of these has an interesting story to it, and I would be happy to share them all with you.

As we amble about town, you will notice that the city's buildings are built in local limestone and the churches are decorated baroque style. I will tell you more about the joyously ornate carvings that adorn most of these, as well as enrich your experience with some funny stories about their "goose breast shape" iron-wrought balconies - I bet you wouldn't be able to guess the reason why these are usually decorated with geraniums!

If you are fond of gastronomy, we will also visit two amazing bakeries, where the best Rustico and Pasticciotto in town - maybe even in all of Apulia- can be found. Towards the end of our tour, we will make our way to the spectacular Holy Cross Basilica, whose facade we will admire before we say our final goodbyes.
I look forward to seeing you on this exciting walk through Lecce!

I am an experienced licensed tourist guide in Apulia. I have been giving tours since 2002 to English and French-speaking clients from all over the world. I also worked as an employee at the Lecce Municipality tourist info point for 17 years, which has given me a wide perspective of my region from both an institutional and a touristic point of view.
I have usually been involved in giving Institutional tours to Representatives (Ministers, Ambassadors and so on) during their official visits and giving shore, private, customized, and small group tours.
I work mainly in the south-centre part of the region, which comprises the Salento and Itria valley areas. I am in love with this area, and during tours, I strive to transmit that same love and passion to my clients. I look forward to hosting you on this Online Experience.
