In this online experience, I will share what I learned during my studies about Pompeii, and together we will visit, through images and 3D effects, corners of the city far from the usual touristic paths. I will tell you all about the dramatic eruption of Mount Vesuvius that buried many, and of course, we will virtually see the people of Pompeii, recreated with plaster casts. We will virtually stroll down the streets, shops, bathhouses and theatres of the port city!

Ciao! I am an authorized tour guide. I have a first degree in Archaeology and History of Art. Both travels and the experience of living abroad have made me understand how lucky I am to live in Naples! It’s a city with a unique charm, where you can breathe history and art in every corner. I would like to introduce you to my colleagues; Riccardo, a Neapolitan Guide, and an Archaeologist; and Teresa, a Ph.D. Doctor in Archaeology and an authorized tour guide (since 2015).

We took the tour with a young woman as our guide who was very knowledgable, engaging, and well prepared. As a graduate student in archeology, the insights she gave into the subject were substantial. Her English was very good, and by having various Google images of locations preloaded, we made best use of our time. Very affordable and great value for the money.

It was one of the best 1/1.30 hrs I have spent during the lockdown. He transported me to a different world, to that fateful day through his powerful narrative of the ruins. He worked under constraints due to the lockdown but I never felt the constraint as a recipient of the service. His knowledge, his conviction made the tour not only a memorable one, a highly educative one too. I am yet to visit Pompeii but this tour has given me not only a full flavour of the place and its history but also created enough curiosity and interest to learn more before finally I am able to visit oneday.
