Description
Joining this tour, you will experience the local life of the Shanghainese people and taste some local street food. The tour starts from the city's first planned community center, established in 1951. You will be hosted by the local neighbourhood committee. You will learn about the history of the village and participate in some of the community activities like dancing, singing, runway modelling, playing ping-pong, etc.
Next, you will visit a local wet market and learn how to buy groceries like a local. After that, you will visit a local home where a Chinese family will host you. The family will teach you to cook wontons with minced pork, vegetables, and local seasonings. You will learn the best of Chinese home-cooked food and dine with the family.
Later, you will head to Qi Bao (Seven Treasures Watertown) where you will taste a variety of dumplings and street food. Do not forget to try the stinky tofu, which although smells bad but tastes really good.
