Admire the Marvels of Marrakesh

In my tour, I will show you some of the highlights of Marrakech: A brief story about Marrakech and how, when and where it was built. Start by sightseeing around the Koutoubia Mosque, the main landmark of the city dating back to the 11/12th century. Then we move to the Soul of Marrakech: Jamaa Lafna Square, which is listed as an oral cultural heritage by UNESCO, where traditionally local musicians, acrobats, storytellers, snake charmers, food stalls, henna makes gather every day to entertain both local visitors and travellers from all over the world ( During these days of lockdown there will be no entertainment so we will admire just the story behind the place and its open space architecture ). Right after, I will take you deeper into the alleys and the Medina of Marrakech labyrinth. As an expert, I will take you under the skin of Marrakech and delight you with valuable secrets of this medieval old town: Stop by local artisans, a Hammam ( Local bath ), a caravanserai, a local fruit and vegetable market and other elements of this magical city...Welcome and Marhaba on my Tour!

Description

Welcome and Marhaba! In this live-streamed, interactive online experience, I will show you some of the highlights of Marrakesh and tell you a brief story about the city; how, when and where it was built.

We will start our walking tour around the Koutoubia Mosque, the main landmark of the city dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. Then, we will move to the soul of Marrakesh - the Jamaa Lafna Square. Listed as a cultural heritage by UNESCO, it is the site where traditional local musicians, acrobats, storytellers, snake charmers, food stalls, and henna makers gather daily to entertain locals and travellers from all over the world. Although we might not see them given the present circumstances, I will share some interesting details about the architecture and the site itself that will surely leave you awestruck.

Next, I will take you deeper into the alleys and labyrinths of the Medina of Marrakesh. We will make our way under the skin of Marrakech, so to speak, and I will delight you with valuable secrets of this medieval old town. We will stop at a Hammam (local bath), a caravanserai, and a local fruit and vegetable market and interact with local artisans in this magical city!

Mehdi

My name is Mehdi, and I am a travel expert on Morocco. I have been guiding all over Morocco since 2007 in culturally royal cities like Rabat, Meknes, Marrakech and Fez and also in the tough terrain of the Atlas Mountains, Sahara desert and the rural side of Morocco.

I have been guiding in Marrakech more frequently since 2010, and I know Marrakech inside out. My tours include cultural visits, sightseeing, shopping tours in the souks of Marrakech. I love being asked questions, so please make your list, and I welcome you to my tours.

An excellent tour of such a lovely city. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, responsive to our questions and very helpful. I would recommend this to anyone and it has inspired our desire to visit Marrakesh at the earliest opportunity.

Mehdi gave my family and friends a terrific tour. We started at the Kutubiyya Mosque, then walked through the city's main square, the souk, and the medina. We were all impressed by Mehdi's ability to lead the tour online -- he gave us a great sense of the city's life and history. The tour was a real treat to experience from home during the pandemic. Thank you, Mehdi!

I was so excited to see this tour was available. We wanted to travel to Morocco but because of COVID, was unable. We had so much fun with our tour guide and I loved his knowledge. His English was excellent, his knowledge was incredible and his answers to ALL of our questions was much detailed. I loved this tour and the tour guide and hope to see him in person. I also know that we will be taking more Tour HQ tours. If you have ever wanted to travel to Morocco or even if you know nothing about the country please consider taking this tour. It was well worth it.
