Explore Copan ruins, one of the most important Mayan sites in Mesoamerica, on this 2-day tour. Discovered in 1570 by Diego García de Palacio, Copán is one of the most important remnants of the Mayan civilization. Then, visit the Macaw Mountain Bird Park to see various birds.

  • Day 1 - San Salvador to Copán Ruinas expand_more
    • Depart from San Salvador at 8 am and arrive in Copan at 12 noon for lunch. Visit the Copán Ruinas located in western Honduras in the Copán Department. For many years, Copán Ruinas has been famous for its magnificent Mayan ruins, declared by UNESCO Archaeological Heritage of Humanity in 1980. Today, Copán Ruinas is considered the Paris of the Mayan world in Central America.

  • Day 2 - Guacamaya Mountain expand_more
    • After breakfast, visit the Guacamaya mountain. This colourful ecological park is situated in a small canyon formed by the Caka-guatales ravine. Its crystalline waters, the exuberant and centenary vegetation, and the coffee farm that operates on-site contribute to reserving a unique natural air. 
      • Go to the outdoor information center where you can interact with some of the birds, take pictures with them, and observe them more closely.
    • Then, return to San Salvador to end the tour.

  • One day before departure, the covid 19 antigen test will be done. If you are vaccinated, you do not need the covid tests (the last vaccine must be applied 15 days before your trip).
  • Copan Ruins : The vestiges of the city and the imposing public squares reveal the three main periods of its development before the city was abandoned in the early 9th century AD. The Hieroglyphic Stairway Square has a monumental staircase, one of the exceptional structures of the Mayan culture. On the 10-meter-wide steps, there are more than 1,250 individual glyphs, which constitute the longest known Mayan inscription. After the City was abandoned, it was swallowed up by the jungle, which helped its conservation.
