Start this journey from Dakar and see some of its famous landmarks like Independence Square. Then, make your way to Goree Island. Continue to Lompoul Desert, the Mini Sahara, on an adventurous tour with the option of enjoying sandboarding or a quad ride. Proceed to make your way through some historical sites of Senegal in Sine Ngayene and Fadiouth Island. End your journey with a wildlife safari in Bandia Reserve.

    • Explore Dakar, the former capital city of French West African colonies and its hidden gems. 
    • See the Monument Of The African Renaissance, the Museum of Black Civilisation and the National Theatre.
    • Travel to the Railroad Station, a newly renovated building that dates back to 1885.
    • Explore the Independence Square, the Roman Catholic Church, the Divinity Mosque, the Obelisk and the Senegalese infantrymen squares.
    • Tour the Gorée island, were in the early 15th century, millions of Black people were enslaved and shipped to the Americas. Visit the slave's house and its infamous “Door of no return”.

  • Day 2 : Pink Lake and Lompoul Desert or the Mini Sahara expand_more
    • Explore the Pink Lake, famous for being the former stage of the Dakar Rally. Ride a jeep around the lake, towards the salt harvesters. The salt here is pink in colour due to the climatic conditions of the region. 
    • Drive on the dunes and along the beach; take shots at the beach as you enjoy a traditionally prepared dish, Chicken Yassa (marinated chicken with a special onion sauce and white rice).
    • Then, head for the desert. Lompoul is a desert with orange dunes. Lompoul Desert is the world's smallest desert, with orange dunes. For accommodation, you will have a sublime and comfortable Mauritanian tent with its nomadic style.
    • Enjoy an invigorating local experience consisting of having a camel ride to behold the fabulous African desert sunset. Sunset photo opportunity at the dunes.

  • Day 3 : Touba's Big Mosque expand_more
    • Visit Touba's Big Mosque. Touba is the capital city of religious brotherhood called: Mouridism. 
    • Learn about Sheikh Ahmadou and explore the mosque, which is the biggest one in West Africa.
    • Explore a typical village, and immerse in their culture. Have an initiation to some of their daily activities: pounding millet. 
    • See Kaolack ‘s Central Market. Have lunch in Kaolack at Blue Bird Restaurant.

  • Day 4 : Megalithic Sites of Sine Ngayene and Fadiouth Island expand_more
    • Explore the Senegambian Megalithic Sites. Discover a world heritage site, the Megalithic Sites of Sine Ngayene, the biggest one in the Senegambia region. Consisting of four large groups of stone circles representing an extraordinary concentration of over 1,000 monuments in a band of 100.
    • Explore Fadiouth and see the women taking advantage of the low tide to pick up some mussels. Also, watch the ladies selling some sea fruits in the village's narrow alleyways. 
      • Visit the church, the sacred baobab tree, the granaries on piles, and the mixed shells made cemetery where Muslims and Catholic are buried.
  • Day 5 : Discover Bandia Animals Reserve expand_more
    • Travel to the Bandia Animals Reserve and go on a 4 WD safari in 3500 hectares, with 60 kilometres of track. Spot hyaenas, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, Derby and Cap elands, impalas, horse antelopes, warthogs, green and red monkeys, hyaenas and so on. Fulfil the dream to see some of the African Big 5. See also nice birds such as the Abyssinian roller, the red-billed hornbill, the buffalo weaver, the long-tailed glossy starling. 
    • Visit the baobab graveyard with its skulls, an emblematic tree used in bygone days as a cemetery. In some areas, this thousand-year-old tree is used as a holy place, where people still perform rituals. 
    • End the tour at the crocodile pond. Have lunch in Bandia's sublime wilderness and transfer t a hotel or airport.
