Travel to Peterhof through a picturesque area of the former noble's residences and gives you the chance to feel the whole history of that place. Get there by car (1-1.5 hrs drive) or by hydrofoil (40 minutes). Peterhof is the most famous suburb of Saint-Petersburg with marvellous parks, palaces and more than 150 original fountains dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The Grand Peterhof Palace features a baroque suite of rooms for gala processions. Founded as a summer residence by Peter the Great, it became a favourite place of summer rest for many of his successors and was developed by the best architects, sculptors and artists of that time.
