Climb Island Peak and Mera Peak on this 23-day trek from Kathmandu. The trail to Mera Peak passes through the countryside, allowing you to immerse yourself in the centuries-old Nepalese and Tibetan cultures. While climbing Mera Peak and passing through the charming village of Dingbosh, you can enjoy the splendour of the Khumbu Valley glacier. The road takes you through a village rich with Buddhist temples and stone buildings leading to the mountain.

    Trekking from Jungle to Gorak Shep (5164m). From Lobuche, the group makes a two to three-hour hike along a winding rocky path to Gorakshep, from where there is a beautiful view of the mountains of Kala Pathara, Pumori, Nuptse and the Gorakshep valley. Then, the group is accommodated in a hotel, has a tea break, and visits the Everest base camp (5364m). Return to Gorakshep (5164 m)—night at the lodge.

  • Day 9: Kala Pathar (5645m) expand_more

    Climbing to the top of Kala Pathar (5645 m). The ascent is quite tricky due to the thinness of the air. In the “hot” season, this road is quite crowded and busy. Many people go to Nepal to see Everest and the Khumbu Glacier. From here, you have a great view of Mount Pumori. Climbing to the top of Kala Pathara from Gorakshep takes about two to a half hours. Then, the group returns for the night back to the hotel. Descent to Lobuche (4940m), rest. Overnight at Lobucha Lodge.

    Descent to Dingboche and then crossing to Chukhung. Night at the lodge.

  • Day 11: Island Peak expand_more

    Trek from Chukhung to Island Peak. Setting up a campground. Trek from Chukhung for 3-4 hours. Night in tents.

  • Day 12: Island Peak- Climb and Descent (6165m) expand_more

    Climbing Island Peak (6165 m). About 6-7 hours up and 3-4 hours down. Descent. If possible, descend to Chukung. Overnight in tents/lodges.

  • Day 13: Amfo-Laptze Pass (5850m) expand_more

    Hike under the Amfo-Laptze pass (5850m). Night in tents.

  • Day 14: Amfo-Laptze expand_more

    Trekking through the Amfo-Laptze Pass. Night in tents. 

  • Day 15: Kongme Dingma expand_more

    Trek to Kongme Dingma. Night in tents.

  • Day 16: Camp at Mera peak expand_more

    Transfer to the base camp or to the assault camp at Mera Peak. Night in tents.

  • Day 17: Ascent to Mera Peak expand_more

    Ascent to Mera Peak, descent to Khara. Night at the lodge.
