Day 1 - Arad to Cenad (approx.180 km, 9-12 hours) expand_more
Begin with a morning drive on the left bank of the river Mures. With some caution, because the area through which we move all day is natural and also protected - Mures Floodplain Natural Park. The first stop will be the habitat of the European ground squirrel (Spermophilus citellus) where during summer-time, it can be seen in the wild. This species is found only in a few places in Europe. The tour continues throughout the area, looking for the magnificent white-tailed (Haliaeetus albicilla).
Then, we halt a little more, admiring the buffalos at the Buffalo Farm and proceeding to the Visitor Centre in Pecica.
The next stop is in the center of the Mures Floodplain Natural Park - Bezdin area, where a small path through the Integral Protected Area (also the wildest of M.F.N.P.) will give us a chance to see the big herbivores in situ; and with luck, the albino fallow deer (Dama dama), a very rare phenomenon in nature.
The tour then continues with the next objective (in the Periam-Cenad area), namely, admiring the European roller - Coracias garrulus (only in summer) - another rare species.

Day 2 - Canoe Ride to Pecica (approx. 180 km, 10-12 hours) expand_more
First thing in the morning, we will go for a canoe ride on the Mureș river on the Arad-Pecica route. Here, we can see beavers (Castor fibre) with a little luck as they were introduced recently, after almost two hundred years of absence in this region. Along with beavers, one can also observe other species of avifauna, some almost exotic judging by their colour, such as the Common Kingfisher (Alcedo athis), European Bee-Eater (Merops apiaster); other more common species such as Egrets (Egretta sp.), Gray Herons (Ardea cinerea), Cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo), ducks, etc.
Lunch will be served at Pecica around midday. Then the tour continues on the left side of the Mures river and into the Bezdin area, a small path through the Integral Protection Area (also the wildest of M.F.N.P.).
