Sign-up for a tour which is a collection of sights that follows the stories of Vlad the Impaler and takes you on a journey of discovery, starting with his life, into his time as a king and ending with his abrupt and untimely death. Create a deep connection with historical events that occurred during his lifetime and better understand the myths surrounding his name to differentiate between fact and fiction. During this 3-day tour which begins from Bucharest, hear and discuss aspects of the Dracula novel and popular fiction. Visit Princely Court of Targoviste, Poienari Citadel, Vidraru Dam, the old town of Sighisoara, the Black Church, Bran Castle, and many other sites of historical importance.

Day 1 - Bucharest - Poienari - Transfagarasan expand_more
- Meet the guide in central Bucharest or at your hotel, at around 8 o'clock. The tour leader will have a sign with the company logo and the name of all the passengers attending the tour. The guide can also be identified by the T-shirt bearing the company name.
- Prepare a packed lunch for today, travel to Targoviste (approximately 1.5 hours), and enjoy your visit to the Princely Court complex for around 2 hours (admission included).
- After 2.5 hours, arrive at the Poienari Citadel; you will have enough time to climb up and down and take photos.
- From the citadel, travel to the Vidraru Dam and on the Trasfagarasan highway to cross the mountains and reach Transylvania.
Stop for the night at the 3-star homestay Moara de Piatră hotel (or similar) in Cârța village and enjoy a Romanian home-cooked dinner at the homestay.

Day 2 - Cârța - Sighișoara - Brașov expand_more
- Start the next day with a hearty breakfast (included) and travel to Sighisoara (around 2 hours' drive).
- Your guide will lead you for 1.5 hours walking tour of Sighisoara, during which you will discover the medieval city's highlights.
- Enjoy a traditional lunch at Casa Dracul restaurant (included), then travel to Brasov (around two hours' drive).
- Stop for the night at Casa Wagner in Brașov, a 3-star hotel (or similar). You have a free evening, so feel free to stroll in the city center and to have dinner at a restaurant of your choice.

Day 3 - Brașov - Bran - Bucharest expand_more
- On the last day, after breakfast, (included) join the guide for a tour of Brasov, then travel by car for around 30 minutes to reach the Bran Castle.
- Spend around 3.5 hours in the Bran village, visit the Castle (2 hours), shop, and have lunch.
- Travel from Bran to Snagov (around 3.5 hours' drive) and visit the peaceful Snagov Monastery.
- Return to Bucharest city center (1 hour) or directly to your hotel at the end of the tour.

Know before you go
- The tour is going to be focused on the history of Vlad the Impaler, aka Dracula.
- We will have to climb the 1480 steps to the Poienari fortress, but there will be plenty of time to do this.
- The Transfagarasan highway can be closed without prior notice due to bad weather conditions; in this case, we will be taking an alternative route to Sighisoara.
