Description

Witness breathtaking mountain views from the summit of Ishinca Peak and be surrounded by over 6000m snow-capped peaks of Chinchey, Palcaraju and Ranrapalca. It's a delight to be in the stunning Cordillera Blanca mountain ranges of the Peruvian Andes!

Highlights

  • Day 1- Huaraz (3100 m) – Pashpa village (3600 m) – Ishinca base camp (4350 m). expand_more
    • Departure from Huaraz at 8:00 am, toward the north side of Callejon de Huaylas until Paltay town. From this place, turn east until Pashpa village at 3600m on a dirt road. (Driving time: 2 hours. Walk time: 4 hours)
    • Meet with the donkey driver, who is going to load the climbing gear until base camp at 4350m, where is the camping spot.

    Overnight camp at Ishinca base camp.

  • Day 2- Ishinca base camp (4350 m) – Ishinca summit (5530 m) – Ishinca base camp (4350 m) expand_more

    Today is Summit Day. Climbing time: 10 hours (ascent & descent)

    • Prepare the climbing gears and tools early at 2:00 am.

    • Hike toward Ishinca mountain at 5530 m. Walk upon switchbacks to Moraine for about 3 hours, and climb up around 2 hours from the glacier edge until the summit. 

    • From the summit, enjoy spectacular sunrise and splendid mountain view, and see more than 10 other summits, including Ranrapalca mountain. 

    • Descend on the same route up until base camp. Enjoy the last night, camping at Ishinca base camp.


  • Day 3- Ishinca base camp (4350 m) – Pashpa village (3600 m) – Huaraz expand_more

    • Pick up the climbing gear, and walk down along the Ishinca valley until Cochapampa, where private transport is waiting to return to Huaraz. (Driving time: 2 hours. Walk time: 4 hours)

Know before you go

  • This summit is perfect for acclimatization with the easy difficulty of climbing up. The normal route is on the west ridge, between Col of Ranrapalca & Ishinca mountain. We will be surrounded by over 6000 m snow-capped peaks of Chinchey mountain, Palcaraju mountain, Tocllaraju mountain and  Ranrapalca mountain, including impressive Huantzan mountain.

  • Maximum altitude: 5530 m (Ishinca summit).

  • Difficulty: Moderate.

  • Duration: 3 days / 2 nights.

  • Preferred time: May – September.

  • Average temperature: Between 13° C – 23° C during the day/ at night -05°C to – 02°C.


Important Advice:

  • Do an early book to get special discounts. 

  • For booking validation, deposit 40% of the total price, and pay the rest 60% upon arrival in Peru or Huaraz.
