Day 1: Start from Huaraz to Moraine expand_more
- Departure from Huaraz at 9.00 am to the east of Huaraz, until Llaca base camp at 4400m.
- Start climbing up toward Moraine from the base camp.
Reach the campsite (4900m) after 3 hours of walking up.
Enjoy taking scenic photos of the beautiful sunset.
Overnight camp at Moraine.
Huaraz (3100m) – Llaca base camp (4400m) – Moraine campsite (4900m).
(Walk time: 3 hours (climb up) / driving time: 2 hours).

Day 2: Vallunaraju Summit - Huaraz expand_more
Have early breakfast at 2:00 am, then start walking up on rock slabs until glacier edge, for around 15 minutes.
Put on the climbing gear and tools to climb up on the ice terrace until reaching the summit at 5686m.
Enjoy gorgeous views and a spectacular sunrise, with the Cordillera Negra to the west, several impressive summits over 6 thousand meters around including, Tocllaraju mountain, Chopicalqui mountain, Huascaran mount, Copa mount, Ocshapalca mountain, Ranrapalca mountain, Huantzan mountain, etc.
Descend on the same path up until Moraine, and take a short break.
Trek down until Llaca base camp, where private transport awaits for a drive back to Huaraz.
Vallunaraju Moraine (4900m) – Vallunaraju Summit (5686m) – Moraine base camp – Huaraz.
