Description

See the best of the Mayan legacy in its ancient cities. Start from the ruins at Ollantaytambo to the sacred city of Machu Picchu before returning to Cusco to see its famous 12 angled stone and visit Sacsayhuaman Temple. Along the way, you will meet the native Willoc community, go rafting in the Willkamayu river and do a city tour of Cusco as it stands today.

    • Pick up from the airport and get transferred to the hotel.

  • Day 2: Lima to Cusco to Ollantaytambo expand_more
    • Post breakfast, transfer to airport and fly to Cusco. Get transferred to the hotel in Ollantaytambo.

    Have lunch and rest at the hotel. Dinner on your own.

  • Day 3: Native community of Willoc or other similar community expand_more
    • Post breakfast visit the native communities to see how the Incas lived 600 hundred years ago. Hot chocolate and sweet bread will be provided to children in these communities. Have lunch with Mama Santuza, the oldest living native woman in this part of the Andes. and watch her perform.

    • Spend the afternoon exploring the ruins of Ollantaytambo.

    • Return to the hotel.

  • Day 4: Rafting in Willkamayu River expand_more
    • Post breakfast, head to Willkamayu River for river rafting. 
    • While rafting, look out for the Inca bridge and Inca wall at the river's edge. See different varieties of birds and enjoy nature. (Instead of rafting one can opt for Horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking).
    • Have your packed lunch by the riverside and return to the hotel.

  • Day 5: Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu expand_more
    • Post breakfast take a train to Machu Picchu. Drop the luggage at the hotel. 


    • Have lunch and walk along the Sacred river to the waterfalls of Mandor, where you can find different varieties of birds and flora.

    • Return to Aguas Calientes (the town close to Machu Picchu).

  • Day 6: Exploring the ruins of Machu Picchu expand_more
    • Post breakfast head to explore the ruins of Machu Picchu. Have a buffet lunch with a view of the Sacred Mountains.
    • Post lunch, return back to Ollantaytambo and then to Cusco (hotel).

    Dinner on your own.

  • Day 7: Cusco city tour expand_more
    • Post breakfast, visit the famous local markets of San Pedro. Then, visit the 12 square stones at Inca Roca Palace, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun. Have lunch on the main square at a good Peruvian Japanese restaurant.

    • In the noon visit to Sacsayhuaman Temple, Tambomachay, Qenqo and other famous sites around Cusco. Be ready for a surprise in Saqsayhuaman.

    • Return to the hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner.

  • Day 8: Departure expand_more
    • Post breakfast, take the flight to Lima.

    • Enjoy the City tour by bus in Miraflores, Lima. Have lunch at a local Peruvian restaurant.

    Bid good-bye and depart to your own places.
