Early pick-up begins at your hotel (any hotel) in Cusco at approximately 5:00/5.20 am. Your bus ride will take the south route of Cusco for about 3 hours, passing through many colourful colonial towns before reaching Pitumarca district, where it’s time to have breakfast and get your energy for the hike ahead.

Get back in our bus and continue to travel for 1 and a half hour along the Salcca Valley. You will pass through various hidden landscapes of traditional living within the Rainbow Mountain region; red valleys, amazing rock formations, terraces in the mountains, herds of alpacas and llamas – they all will compliment this sacred journey.

Start from the head of the hiking trail (4850 m/15912 ft), and ascend for about 45 minutes to 1 hour to our viewpoint (5,000 m / 16,404 ft).

Witness some of the unique views of Ausangate (highest snow-capped mountain of Cusco at 6,375 m/20,915 ft) and the three Rainbow mountains, parading their unique colour formations exposing their internal history for us to see. How fortunate it is to be out of the crowds in your own space here and absorb this much treasured and personal experience! Take time to explore the area and relax.

After observing the amazing painted landscapes here, you will descend back to our bus, returning to our restaurant in Pitumarca District (where we had breakfast) for lunch.

Head back to Cusco and be dropped off at the Regocijos Square.
