Description

Go on an exciting 2-day trek up into the Peruvian peaks. Hike up to Challacancha and see the Salkantay and Humantay glaciers. Trek from Soraypampa to the lake and camp under the stars cradled by the snow-capped peaks. Conquer the highest point on the Salkantay peak and return with many memories and stories to tell.

    • Depart from your hotel in Cusco early in the morning and drive towards Mollepata village. Stop to have breakfast here.

    • Continue via bus to the start of the hike at Challacancha. Here, we will organise our staff and begin the walk along a water canal which will afford us our first panoramic view of the Salkantay glacier and the Humantay glacier. 

    • Arrive at Soraypampa, have lunch and take a nap.

    • Begin a 4-hour trek uphill to reach the campsite. Overnight stay in the tented campsite.

  • Day 2: Soraypampa to Salkantay Pass; return to Cusco expand_more

    • Set out early in the morning for the challenging 8-hour trek to conquer the highest point along the hike, the Salkantay pass. 

    • Relax near the Salkantay peak and take some photos before beginning descent towards our lunch spot.

    • Go all the way down to Soraypampa.

    • Board the bus to transfer back and arrive in Cusco by 6:00 PM.
