Visit the sacred valley of the Inca; spend the whole day exploring the ancient town and doing a hike on the other side of the Urubamba River and arrive at the Sun Gate to get a stunning view of the snow-capped mountain - Veronica.     • Leave from Cusco very early, driving to the sacred valley towards Ollantaytambo village (2900 masl), 2 hours far from Cusco.

    • Visit through the historical urban sector of Ollantaytambo.

    • After visiting this village, begin the hike to the SUN GATE through a gentle trail, which goes all the way up to the Inca quarry. At this place, take a break to learn about some techniques that the Incas may have used to cut and carve stones, and how they came to bring huge blocks all the way up to build the fortress and the village on the other side of the river.

    • After visiting the quarry, keep going up, but this time to get to the Sun Gate (3900), a sacred place from where the Incas used to do offerings to their Gods. View the snow-capped mountain Veronica (4500MASL) facing this altar, and also have a marvelous view of the sacred valley and all towns surrounding the area.
