Description

Walk and climb and descend along zigzag paths through valleys and mountain passes of Llamacorral, Taullipampa, Tuctupampa, Quisuar, Jancapampa, Huillca and many other camps sites. Enjoying nature, vast landscapes, streams, hot springs, beautiful lakes like the Huecroncocha lake, national park, villages, mountains and camping along the way throughout this adventurous trek.

  • Day 1: Huaraz - Cashapampa - Llama Corral expand_more
    • 6 AM: Breakfast.
    • 7 AM: Leave Huaraz. 
    • Passengers will be transferred to the trailhead Cashapampa at 2900 masl, where we will meet our donkey drivers.

    • Start hiking by a narrow valley; we will go up for about 2 hours.

    • Have lunch by the tree’s shadow, then we will start going up a moderate almost flat area to the first camp, Place Llamacorral at 3800 masl.

    Camp overnight.

  • Day 2: Llamacorral - Taullipampa expand_more
    • Hike along the valley (moderate) enjoying the beautiful turquoise lakes called Ichicocha and Jatuncocha.

    • Arrive at a nice spot where will have lunch at the place called Quisuar.

    • Go up to the Alpamayo south base camp.

    • To take pictures, we will return and then continue for few hours to the next camp place called Taullipampa

    Camp overnight at 4200 masl.

  • Day 3: Taullipampa - Tuctupampa expand_more
    • Start hiking to the Punta Union Pass at 4750 masl climbing a zigzag path early in the morning after the Andean breakfast.

    • We will get to the pass around 11 am, then later enjoy nice views as we descent to Lake Morococha to have lunch.

    • After a few hours of walking, we will arrive at the camp place Tuctupampa at 4200 masl.

  • Day 4: Tuctupampa - Quisuar expand_more
    • Start climbing to get the Pucaraju Pass 4640 masl.

    • We will get there at around 11 am, then go down a zigzag path to a nice landscape surrounded by highlands straw and many trees.

    • Have lunch in a nice spot by the Huecroncocha lake. 

    • After few minutes of walking down, we will get to a small village called Quisuar, where we will camp on the left side at 3900 masl.

  • Day 5: Quisuar - Jancapampa expand_more
    • Start the hiking, going up a moderate path, enjoying fields of sheep. 
    • We will get to the Tupatupa Pass 4360masl easily.
    • Go down to the base of the Pucajirca mountain and arrive at the next camp place of Jancapampa at 3600 masl.

  • Day 6: Jancapampa - Huillca expand_more
    • Start hiking early to get to the Yanacon Pass 4610 masl on time. 
    • Get treated to different landscapes as usual. 

    • After the pass, we will go down to the next camp place called Huillca overnight at 4000 masl.

  • Day 7: Huillca - Caracara expand_more
    • Moderate walking for the first 2 hours to get at the Mesapata Pass at 4460 masl.

    • Walk on a flat area to the water stream in Moyobamba valley to have lunch.

    • Continue to the base of the Caracara pass, where we will camp at 4400 masl - Caracara.

  • Day 8: Caracara - Jancarurish expand_more

    Today, the first 2 hours will be windy. 

    • Once we get to the Caracara Pass - 4830 masl, we will see many white peaked mountains.
    •  Afterwards, to take pictures we will start going down and see Alpamayo's north face.

    • Go down and arrive at our camp place of Jancarurish at 4200 masl.

  • Day 9: Jancarurish Rest Day expand_more
    • Walk to the base camp of Alpamayo's north side.

    • Click many pictures of the mountains and then return to the base to camp overnight at 4200 masl.

  • Day 10: Jancarurish - Osoruri expand_more
    • Walk down along the Alpamayo valley until we reach Ruinapampa, where the Pre-Inkas terraces can be seen.

    • Start climbing a zigzag path and in the middle of climbing, we will have lunch.

    • Reach the Ichicvientona Pass at 4770 masl.

    • Take short rest and then take pictures.

    • Descent for a few minutes to the camp place of Osoruri and overnight at  4650 masl.

  • Day 11: Osoruri - Calamina expand_more
    • After breakfast, we will walk up for about one hour to get to the Jatunvientona Pass at 4860 masl.

    • Go on for a few meters down to reach a beautiful blue lake of Cullicocha at the base of Santa Cruz massif.

    • Get to the shore of the lake to have lunch.

    • After rest, we will continue going down to the camp place of Calamina. From this camp place, we can enjoy the sunset over Black Mountain.

    Camp overnight at 3650 masl.

  • Day 12: Huancarhuaz - Cashapampa - Huaraz expand_more
    • Today on our last hiking day, we will arrive first at the small village of Hualcayan where we will find a very basic shop, and the National Park entrance control.

    • After a few minutes of walking, we will have lunch and get early to Huancarhuash Hot springs for relaxing and camping in the Small village of Conay or Huancarhuas at 2850 masl.

  • Day 13: Huancarhuaz - Cashapampa - Huaraz expand_more
    • After the last Andean breakfast, we will board the bus at 9 am approx.

    • We will feel that we rounded the Alpamayo circuit, then we will arrive at the first town of Caraz 2293 masl.

    • Continue driving to Carhuas for lunch.

    • Stop in a nice spot to have lunch, then we will continue to Huaraz arriving at 3 pm or 4 pm approx.

    Overnight stay in hotel.
