Sign up for a 3-day nature expedition with our expert guide and meet the beautiful natives of the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo Regional Conservation Area. Spot the birds, and monkeys, as you walk to the lowland areas and enjoy the exciting night boat rides to spot alligators. Try your hand at fishing in the Wild Tahuayo River and locate the pink and grey dolphins on your boat ride back home.

  • Day 1- Start your Native Expedition expand_more
    • Meet the tour guide at your hotel in Iquitos at 8:30 a.m. and start driving all the way to Nauta town by car.
    • Take a wooden boat (2 hours and 20 minutes) for a walkaway to Jerusalem village and take the boat to the base camp for lunch. After lunch, we will have some fun activities.
    • Explore the region around you and watch for birds and monkeys.
    • Get back for dinner and enjoy a night excursion by boat, spotting alligators, tarantulas, frogs and nocturnal birds.

    Overnight at the camp.

  • Day 2- Walk into the Lowland Forest expand_more
    • Wake up at 6 am for bird watching and have your breakfast at 7:30 a.m.
    • Walk into the lowland forest, and spot birds, monkeys, sloths, medicinal plants, reptiles and many more. Stop for lunch.
    • Go for a fishing trip, catching piranhas and catfishes. Have dinner and head again for the night excursion.

    Overnight at the base camp.

  • Day 3- Enjoy the Dolphin Spotting expand_more
    • Have breakfast and leave for a market day in the village for souvenirs.
    • Walk back to the boat to Naura town along the river, spotting pink and grey dolphins.
    • Return to Iquitos by 5 p.m.
