• Pick up at your Cusco hotel early in the morning for travel to the Sacred Valley town of Ollantaytambo. 

• From there, travel with your guide by train to the point of entry for the official Inca Trail. 

• During the hike, visit the Inca ruins of Wiñaywayna and break for lunch.

• Continue on to the Sun Gate, or Inti Punku. At Inti Punku, enjoy your first views of Machu Picchu from above. 

• From there, descend to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will check into the hotel for the evening and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before resting.

Duration: 6.5 hours/13 km

• After an early breakfast in Aguas Calientes, walk or take a bus to Macchu Picchu.

• Start the visit with a 2-3 hour guided tour, which will provide an introduction to the most important and impressive locations at the archaeological site. Early morning is quieter at the ruins and you can enjoy the beauty and the magic of Machu Picchu before most visitors arrive.

• After your tour, have free time to explore on your own, climb Huayna Picchu (additional charge, and entry must be purchased in advance) or visit the beautiful Temple of the Moon.

• Meet in the afternoon in Aguas Calientes for a late lunch and the return train to Cusco. At the station, be met by the driver for hotel drop off in Cusco.
