Day 1: Sacred Valley expand_more
Begin your acclimatisation at the Sacred Valley, a region in Peru's Andean highlands. Along with the nearby town of Cusco and the ancient city of Machu Picchu, it formed the heart of the Inca Empire. It is located at 9,000 feet.
Visit Chinchero, Maras town, its salt pans and the extraordinary Moray.

Day 2: Machu Picchu expand_more
Take a train from Ollantaytambo.
Witness the world's new wonder, Machu Picchu, an Incan citadel set high in the Andes Mountains in Peru, above the Urubamba River valley. Built in the 15th century and later abandoned, it’s renowned for its sophisticated dry-stone walls that fuse huge blocks without mortar, intriguing buildings that play on astronomical alignments and panoramic views. Its exact former use remains a mystery. Spend some time at the site.

Get used to the altitude and then visit the historical capital located at 11,000 feet. Cusco offers all that you need. Amazing architecture, good cuisine, art and handcrafts.
Go sightseeing in Cusco. Visit Tambomachay, Puca Pukara, Q'enqo and Sacsayhuaman.
