Travel from Auckland to Hobbiton Movie Set, Rotorua with its Maori heritage, then onto the geothermal valley and reach Wellington - Aotearoa's capitol. Activities include Auckland sights: Mt Eden viewpoint, Mission Bay, Parnell, Sky Tower(no entry), Hobbiton, Te Puia and Maori cultural show with hangi(dinner), Wellington sights: Bee Hive, Te Papa, Mt Victoria lookout.

  • Day 1: Meet and Greet expand_more
    • Meet and greet your driver at the airport. Commence sightseeing of Auckland, then transfer to your accommodation.
  • Day 2: Hobbiton and Te Puia expand_more
    • Commence travel to Hobbiton activity.
    • Fall in love with the Alexander family sheep farm, just as acclaimed director Sir Peter Jackson did, as you journey on a short bus ride through the unequivocal beauty of the land, with the mighty Kaimai Ranges towering in the distance. Your guide will escort you on a shared walking tour around the movie set, showcasing the intricate details, pointing out the most famous locations and explaining how movie magic was made here.
    • Journey past the colourful Hobbit Hole™ doors that scatter the hillsides, including the iconic Bag End, home of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, before arriving at Bagshot Row™ for a glimpse of the interior of a humble Hobbit’s home.
    • Designed and crafted by the renowned creative teams behind the film trilogies, Bagshot Row offers an authentic glimpse into the charming dwellings of Hobbits going about daily life in the Shire. Your guide will lead you through one of two Hobbit Holes, offering time to explore the detailed interiors, with each home designed to create an identical experience. 
    • Continue along the pathways past The Millhouse, across the double-arch stone bridge and into the world-famous Green Dragon™ Inn, where you will enjoy a complimentary, exclusive beverage from our Hobbit™ Southfarthing™ range.
    • Later, continue to Rotorua with a short sightseeing tour and check in to accommodation.
  • Day 3: Te Puia Experience and Ruakuri Caves expand_more
    • This morning, you head to the Waitomo area for your activity at the Ruakuri Caves.
    • Ruakuri Cave is an experience that must be seen to be believed. Offering a captivating blend of the most compelling subterranean experiences (including glow worms), it will leave you open-mouthed, awe-struck and humbled by the sheer majesty of nature. Begin the tour by journeying down through the spectacular, man-made spiral entrance marvel at the softly folding shawl-like limestone formations and crystal tapestries while listening to the distant thunder of subterranean waterfalls. If you want to see glow worms up close and personal and learn about their fascinating life, then this tour is for you. Photography is permitted in Ruakuri Cave.
    • Major features of the Ruakuri Cave tour include Holdens Cavern, named after James Holden, who first opened the cave to the public, The Drum Passage, The Pretties, and The Ghost Passage. With clever and innovative design, Ruakuri Cave has full wheelchair and pushchair access, and both the cave and its visitor centre are proudly powered by 100% renewable energy.
    • Later, return to Rotorua and prepare for your Cultural Show and Dinner:
    • For generations, Te Puia has welcomed manuhiri (visitors) worldwide to explore the magic hidden within our historical geothermal valley
    • Te Pō begins with a mouth-watering buffet at the world-famous Pātaka Kai Restaurant & Bar, followed by an exhilarating cultural performance and then down into the geothermal wonderland featuring the world-famous Pōhutu Geyser.
    • This experience is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes long and is suitable for all ages. 
    • Transfer back to the accommodation with Te Puia vehicle.
  • Day 4: City Sights expand_more
    • Travel to Aotearoa's capital. City sights included Mt Victoria lookout, The Bee Hive Parliament Building, Te Papa Museum, and Old St Paul Church.
    • Transfer to your final accommodation and bid your driver farewell.
