    On arrival at Kathmandu International Airport (Tribhuwan International Airport), get transferred to the hotel after being received by our guides and staff. At the hotel, check-in and join in for a group briefing regarding the climb and other useful information, with a welcome dinner.

  • Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour expand_more

    In the morning, depart from the hotel. Our city guide will show you around places of interest within Kathmandu, such as the tour of the world heritage sites. Then, back to the hotel for the preparation of Island Peak Climb.

  • Day 3: Flight to Lukla (2,820m) and Trek to Phakding (2,657m) - 04 hrs expand_more

    In the morning, fly to Lukla with grand views of Himalayan peaks during the 35-minute flight with Everest on reaching Lukla. You will have time to refresh and then walk on the gradual trail with a few ups and downs past Lukla town and visit Sherpa farm village to reach Phakding for an overnight stop.

  • Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) – 06 hrs expand_more

    Today, take a long walk to reach the famous Namche Bazaar. The morning starts with a gradual walk following the Dudh Kosi River and crossing a few bridges to reach the Sagarmatha National Park entrance near Monjo village. From here, walk on the river bed and then climb for a few hours into the forested trail with views of snow-capped peaks as this scenic walk takes you to the exciting Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 5: Rest Day at Namche Bazaar for Acclimatization and Hike expand_more

    Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization before heading to the higher area. A good place for a free day in Namche spend the day with a scenic hike to viewpoints on top of Namche facing Mt. Everest-Amadablam and other ranges of the peaks. In the afternoon, explore the streets and shops; Namche holds a colourful and busy Saturday market once a week.

  • Day 6: Trek to Thyangboche Monastery (3,867m) – 05 hrs expand_more

    From Namche, the walk leads on the gradual scenic path with a downhill to Imjatse River at Phunge-Tenga for lunch. In the afternoon, climb uphill into rhododendrons, pines, and fir forest with grand views of snowcapped peaks. After a few hours of climbing, reach Thyangboche Monastery and enjoy marvellous views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamserku, and Kwande with magnificent Amadablam. Spend the afternoon to visit its interesting monastery and observe monks and priests in prayer.

  • Day 7: Trek to Pheriche (4,240m) – 05hrs expand_more

    From Thyangboche, catch a super panorama of mountains, then head downhill within lush and green woodland to reach a metal bridge over the Imjatse River; from here, climb uphill to Pangboche, the last permanent Sherpa farm village before Island Peak and Everest Base Camp. Our walk leads to Somare for lunch, with super views of Amadablam at a close distance, and then heading on the gradual path with a short climb to reach Pheriche windy valley for an overnight stop.

  • Day 8: Trek to Lobuche (4,930m) – 05 hrs expand_more

    On leaving Pheriche, walk on the valley end and take a short climb to a ridge to reach Thugla (Dugla). Here, the trail from Pheriche Valley and Dingboche joins towards Everest Base Camp. From Thugla, enjoy the stunning views of Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori, and Amadablam. After a lunch break and rest, the climb leads up to the terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier, coming across many memorials of unfortunate climbers who died on the mountain of Khumbu. From here, continue to walk to Lobuche for an overnight stop.

  • Day 9: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5364m) and Gorakshep (5,180m) expand_more

    Morning adventure takes you to Everest Base Camp, walking with a short steep climb between glacier and moraine, then reaching Gorakshep, beneath the lofty peak of Pumori and Kalapathar rocky hill. The walk continues towards Everest Base Camp; enjoy views of the massive Khumbu icefall and glaciers at base camp. After an exciting time with the experience of a lifetime, retrace the journey back to Gorakshep for an overnight stop.

  • Day 10: Hike to Kalapathar (5,545m) Trek to Chukung (4,730m) – 05 hrs expand_more

    Early morning climb on top of Kalapathar at above 5,545 m, the highest point on trekking with magnificent views of mountains, includes Mt. Everest at close distance. After a great time on top, descend back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue to walk to Thugla, downhill to Imjatse Valley, with a nice scenic walk towards the last human settlement at Chukung in the comfort of a nice lodge.

  • Day 11: Trek to Island Peak Base Camp (4,970m) – 04 hrs expand_more

    After Chukung, from here onward, we stay in tents camping for a few nights till the climb is over. The morning walk leads to our main highlight and goal to Island Peak base camp, located in a scenic spot at Parshya Gab. Here, we set our camps with an afternoon free to practice climbing with our expert guide.

  • Day 12: Trek Island Peak High/Advance Camp (5,400m) – 04 hrs expand_more

    Great thrill and adventure begin after setting a high and advanced camp above 5,400 m high to make the climb much more accessible and possible; leaving the base camp towards high camp climb above the moraine towards an open gully located between two well-defined ridges to reach the high camp beneath a small hanging glacier above 5,400 m high. Here, we spend time in the afternoon for final preparations for the big climb in the early morning.

  • Day 13: Climb Island Peak (6,160m) and Return to Base Camp – 08 hrs expand_more

    The climb starts early morning before dawn, heading to the summit of Island Peak at above 6,160 m / 20,328 ft high, where the grade of the climb is PD+ as per the French and Swiss Alpine Climbing System. As our guide leads you across the snow-covered glacier, avoiding serac and crevasses, climb northwards over a snow-covered scree in the margin between a glacier facing a top ridge. The climb continues by crossing a gully with some stones with icefall danger. A steep snow and ice ramp leads you above 100 meters high (300 ft) to reach its main summit, as a strenuous climb takes you on top of our final and major highlight of the adventure. Enjoy views facing the panorama of Mt. Everest 8,848 m, Lhotse 8,501 m, Mt. Amadablam 6,856 m, Mt. Makalu 8, 463 m, Chamlang, and Baruntse peaks, after a great climb feeling in high spirit descend safely on the same route back to base camp.

  • Day 14: Trek to Pangboche (3,900m) – 05 hrs expand_more

    All climbers should be at base camp on this day to clean up the garbage, hand it over to designated SPPC personnel (Sagarmatha Pollution Project Control), and pack gear for Yaks to carry to Lukla. After getting organized, our return route leads towards Imjatse Valley with scenic views. The walk proceeds towards Chukung to reach Dingboche for a lunch break and then treks downhill to Pangboche village for an overnight halt.

  • Day 15: Trek to Namche Bazaar – 06 hrs expand_more

    From Pangboche, retrace the journey up to Thyangboche and downhill for an hour and then on the good winding path to Namche Bazaar for an overnight stop before Lukla.

  • Day 16: Trek to Lukla – 06 hrs expand_more

    Today, a long walk to reach our last stop in the Khumbu area at Lukla, from Namche on the downhill to a river with a short climb to Monjo and then on a good trail to Phakding village, where a few hours walk from here reaches you at Lukla for final overnight stop within Everest and Khumbu area.

  • Day 17: Fly Back to Kathmandu expand_more

    In the morning, as per your flight time, transfer to Tenzing-Hillary air terminal in Lukla, boarding in a smaller aircraft for a scenic flight back to Kathmandu and then to your hotel after a most amazing time on Island Peak Climb.

  • Day 18: Final Departure expand_more

    Last day in the land of Himalayan wonders, as per your international flight time, depart from the hotel for the airport for your international flight back to your home countries or other respective destinations.

What to bring
  • Below is the checklist of equipment you need for the trek:
    • Travel documents: Passport, visa, travel insurance, air tickets, voucher, and passport-sized photos
    • Duffel bag & company t-shirt: We supply complimentary duffel/company t-shirts, but one extra big duffel bag is necessary for non-trek goods left at the hotel in Kathmandu
    • Day pack: (with waist straps) refillable water bottle (approximately 15- 20 ltrs)
    • Head: Warm head, sun cap, headlamps, sunglasses, alarm clock, torch/flashlight, earplug, and eye mask
    • Feet: Thin, lightweight inner socks, thick, warm wool hiking socks, hiking boots with spare laces, camp shoes (sneakers and sandals), and gaiters for hiking in winter
    • Hands: Lightweight gloves, heavyweight gloves or mittens, with a waterproof shell outer (seasonal)
    • Lower body: Undergarments, hiking shorts, lightweight cotton long pants, light and expedition weight thermal bottoms, fleece or wool pants (seasonal), waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell pants
    • Upper body: t-shirts, light and expedition weight thermal tops, fleece jacket or pullover, fleece wind-stopper jacket (optional), waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell jacket
    • Accessories: Sleeping bag inner liner, batteries, kindle, first aid kit, trekking poles, water bottles, toiletries, small wash towel, toilet papers, hand sanitiser, lip balm, face and body moisturizer, ear plug, sewing kit, knife, lighter, a small padlock
    • Toiletries: Nail cutter, small mirror, toothbrush/paste, multipurpose soap
    • Extras: Wet wipes (baby wipes), tissue /toilet roll, anti-bacterial hand wash, book, trail map/guide book, pencils and small notebooks, regular medicine, sanitary pads and play cards

  • Being a relatively easy climb compared to the other peaks in the region, you must be thinking it is a simple hike. To be honest, it is not suitable for extreme beginners. This climbing expedition is for advanced beginner climbers with some knowledge of the gears, as the climb includes some technical sections. There will be professional guides helping you get through the technical portions, but it can still be difficult for beginners.
