Swaymbunath stupa is an ancient religious architecture atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley. The Stupa is also known as Monkey Temple. This is one of the best places to catch panoramic views of the city. A large number of Buddhists and Hindus alike visit Swayambhunath throughout the day. Swayambhu is perhaps the best place to observe religious harmony in Nepal.
Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest Stupa in the World, located 11 km from the centre and northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu. According to legend, Boudhanath Stupa was built during the 5th century AD. Boudhanath Stupa looks like a giant mandala or diagram of the Buddhist cosmos. During the festival of Losar(Tibetan New Year) in February or March, Boudhanath hosts the largest celebration in Nepal.
