Delve into the rich Nepalese culture and traditions from the closest quarter and intermingle with the locals on this exciting trek from Kathmandu. In the background, the presence of the magnificent Himalayan peaks provides stunning panoramic mountain scenery. Visit famous landmarks like Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath in Kathmandu. Then, on your trek, come across Gokhureswar Mahadev Temple, Sunjdarijal, and the Kali Mandir.  

  • Day 1: Greetings at Kathmandu Airport expand_more
    • Meet at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel.

    • After settling in and freshening up after your long flight, visit the office to brief you about your program. Meet with your trekking guide and discuss the equipment needed for trekking. Check your equipment and facilitate other necessary items such as National Park Permits, special permits etc.

    If you arrive at night, this same discussion will happen the next day morning after breakfast. 

  • Day 2: Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu expand_more
    • After breakfast, we will leave for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu Valley. Visit the sacred Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, very ancient and essentially enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites.
    • See the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhnath and explore the prehistoric architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square.
    • Continue to Patan City, famous for its fine arts and historical architecture.
    • On return to your hotel, have time to explore the local area, have dinner and perhaps take a stroll through the popular streets.
  • Day 3: Kathmandu to Sundarijal expand_more
    • Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, which takes approximately one hour.
    • Trek from Sunjdarijal to Chisapani, which takes about four and half hours.  The trail will enter through the Shivpuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The first settlement you will come across is Mulkharka with Tamang habitants. The route heads down the ridge through a forest of oaks and rhododendron to Chisopani (2300m.)
  • Day 4: Chisapani to Nagarkot expand_more
    • Trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot, which takes about six and a half hours.
    • Start your trek to Chauki Bhanjag, which takes about 2 and half hours. Continue on the charming trails toward Nagarkot. Nagarkot (2175m) is by far one of the most popular destinations in Nepal.
  • Day 5: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel expand_more
    • Trek from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel, which takes about six hours. As you approach Dhulikhel, a plethora of cultural diversities, interesting traditional practices, lush vegetation, and rich birdlife unfolds before you.
    • Visit the Gokhureswar Mahadev temple.Take 30 minutes to walk to the eastern part of town, a peaceful and scenic spot.
    • See the Bhagawati Temple situated at a height in the western part of Dhulikhel and dominates the skyline. From here, you can get a beautiful vista of the town and surrounding areas.
  • Day 6: Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha-Panauti expand_more
    • Trek from Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha-Panauti, which takes approximately four and half hours. 
    • From Dhulikhel up to the Kali Mandir, a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali. From there, the trail drops down to the village of Kavre and past a line of shops and tea houses. 
    • Head up again through pine woods past Phulbari and up and down a couple of more hills before you reach the hill of NamoBuddha.
    • Drive from Panauti to Kathmandu, which takes about one and a half hours.
  • Day 7: Back home expand_more
    • Rest and do shopping at Thamel in Kathmandu
    • Depart to the airport to catch your flight.

  • Kathmandu Valley trekking is fit for all age group travellers, families, students.  The narrow mountain paths take you through dense forests and quaint villages. Katmandu Valley trekking allows visitors to observe the rich Nepalese culture, tradition from the closest quarters and intermingle with the locals. 

  • Situated towards the north of the Katmandu Valley, Shivapuri was proclaimed as a watershed area supplying more than a million litres of natural spring water to the city due to its strategic location and convenience.

  • Dhulikhel (1440m.) is a small town with a long history. According to the records, it has been around for more than 500 years. The artistic skill and urban ethos of its Newar inhabitants have created a place of charm and beauty. Streets are lined with bare-brick houses, carved wooden windows, sloping roofs, pagoda temples and sacred statues everywhere. The major places of worship here are the Narayan and Harisiddhi temples adorned with profuse wood carvings.

  • Namobouddha, situated at an elevation of 1750m, is an essential Buddhist Pilgrimage located in the Kavre District, about 38 km east of Kathmandu. The Stupa and shrines built in this lovely little hill mark a very ancient holy site where a legendary prince named Mahasattva offered himself to a starving tigress with several underfed cubs. This legendary episode is depicted in a stone slab and placed right next to a holy stupa.
