    • Embark on a ten-minute ride that will take you to Saint-Pierre - perhaps the most famous place in Martinique, but for tragic reasons. In 1902, a volcanic eruption killed 30,000 people in the city. The only survivor was a prisoner held in an underground dungeon.
    • Return to Fort-de-France via several fishing villages, including Le Carbet, where Christophe Colomb landed in 1502. Paul Gauguin lived there and painted there in 1887. Passing through Bellefontaine, observe the boat-shaped house and the village of Schœlcher, named after the man who fought for the liberation of slaves in the French Antilles.
