Explore Lokobe National Park's magnificent wildlife and learn about the incredible flora and fauna of the region by our local guides. This national park protects the only remaining endemic vegetation in the Nosy Be's region. Walk amidst some of the most exotic fauna species like the Black Lemur and chameleon Panther, flora species like the Vannila Orchid and Ylang-Ylang and experience the local traditional boat ride in pirogue!

    • Our taxi will pick you up at 8.30 am from your hotel to Ambatozavavy village. A local guide will be provided to you for the park visit.
    • Transfer from Ambatozavavy village to Ampasipohy (the starting point for the walk) will be done in a pirogue (dugout canoe) at 9 am. 
    • Upon reaching the park, it will be a two-hour guided walk in the forest, including lunch and beverages. 
    • Expect to spot some exotic flora species like Ylang-Ylang and Vannila Orchids and fauna species like Black Lemur, Boa Constrictors, and one of the rarest creatures- the Panther Chameleon!
    • At 4.30 pm we depart from the park, back to Nosy Be.

What to bring
  • You will need shorts and slip-slops (thongs) on the boat but long pants and closed shoes for walking in the forest.
  • Sun cream, a hat, and insect repellent are essential to carry.
