Imlil & Berber villages tour expand_more
Depart by car from Marrakech around 9 am in the morning for an exhilarating 1h:30 m drive, up the Moulay Brahim Gorges, weekly market and the high valleys to reach the Berber town of Imlil (1,740 m). Set in the upper level foothills of the Western High Atlas mountains, this trail will head out with streams and paths branching out in all directions.
Meet your group and get a warm welcome with a glass of mint tea, before setting out for some 2 to 4 km excursion. Towards the south of the Berber village of Aroumd (Aremd) (1,843 m), lies the hamlets of Ait Souka and Targa Imoula. Witness the jagged Western High Atlas peaks of the Toubkal Massif. These peaks include Jbels Aguelzim (3,547 m), Aksouâl (3,847 m) and the Adrar Adj (3,122 m).
Stop at Aroumd to visit a village in the Assif Aït Mizane valley. See the houses located near ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn, vegetables, apple and walnut trees.
Continue for another half and hour and proceed for a lunch break that will be served by a Berber family in the village.
Descend back down the other side of the valley to reach back to Imlil.
Return to Marrakech.
