Day 1- Marrakech - Imlil - Toubkal Refuge expand_more
We will trek from Marrakech, through Imlil, to the Toubkal Refuge. The Toubkal region is the most popular area with trekkers as it is easily accessible from Marrakech. It is also an area of stunning scenery, high mountains (including Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa at 4,167 m) and typical Berber villages. The area is crisscrossed by mule tracks that cross high passes and descend into deep valleys, summer pastures and terraces of maize, potatoes and other crops and orchards of walnut, apple and cherry. Imlil is the main trailhead for the area.
Overnight stay in tents.

Day 2- Toubkal Refuge - Toubkal Summit - Imlil - Marrakech expand_more
After a very early breakfast today, you and your Moroccan guide will set out at 6 am to attain, after a three hour non-technical but steep climb, the highest peak in the Maghreb (4,167 m). The panorama from here is simply stunning. This remarkable climb and view are what you have come so far for.
Whenever you are ready, your Moroccan guide will lead you on the Ikkhibi Sud or South Cirque for a straightforward 2 to 3-hour descent back to the area near the Refuge for a picnic (this descent can be steep in places, and the route is covered with many loose stones so, we would recommend a walking pole for this section for anyone with aching joints or who is not 100% sure-footed).
