    • At 8:00Am, you will be met and greeted by a tour guide and driver at the lobby of your hotel.

    • Put on your walking shoes and discover the Cambodian jungle. Hidden from the beaten track lies Kbal Spean with the “River of Thousand Lingas” and an impressive waterfall.

    • To get to the top of Kbal Spean and appreciate the intricately carved stone river bed you have to conquer a fairly steep incline, but fear not – the path is well worn and the biggest obstacles and boulders are accessible by series of well maintained wooden staircases, yet at least medium level of fitness is required for this 3km jungle walk.

    • Our next stop - Beng Mealea, has now been made more accessible. Recently built wooden platform snakes around the inner part of the temple allowing you an elevated view of the moss-clad jigsaw puzzle. This mid 12th century temple features mixture of Buddhism and Hinduism attributes and is particularly mesmerising in the wet season.

  • Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Taprohm expand_more
    • You will be picked up at the lobby of hotel at 8:00AM and depart for the largest religious monument ever built – Angkor Wat. One can simply spend hours wandering in awe at the grandeur of this temple, its many levels and intricate carvings adorning the many galleries. The stories told by your tour guide will bring ancient Angkor times back to life.
    • You will enter the ancient city through its South Gate. In the very centre lies the temple of Bayon – silent witness of time, the 216 enigmatic faces gaze over the horizon and one can only wonder what they have seen throughout the ages. I will point out the best angles for photography here and give explanation of the many intricate carvings on the walls of the galleries.

    • You will then continue to Baphuon with its long causeway and an impressive giant Reclining Buddha, a jigsaw puzzle only put back together in 2011 following a 37 year-long disruption caused by the war. Phimeanakas is hidden in the shaded jungle and offers a decent over-the-treetops view to those who conquer the steep steps to the top.

    • Continuing further, you can admire the Esplanade of the Royal Palace more commonly known as the Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King.

    • Your afternoon adventure will be having gained its 21st century fame from the Tomb Raider movie, the charming and iconic Ta Prohm features on most visitors' itineraries and rightfully so. Here nature takes over ancient man made structures and golden Spung tree (Tetrameles Nudiflora) roots wrap themselves around mossy stones in a tight embrace. Back to hotel.

Know before you go

To enhance your experience and to preserve Angkor for generations to come, we kindly urge you to observe the following points:

  1. Dress Code: Revealing clothes such as shorts and skirts above the knees and showing bare shoulders are prohibited in sacred places. Respectful dress is strongly encouraged in Angkor.

  2. Monuments: Touching carvings, sitting on fragile structures, leaning on temple structures, moving or taking archaeological artifacts and graffiti are strictly prohibited. Backpacks, umbrellas with sharp tips, tripods and high heels are discouraged from being brought or worn inside the temples.

  3. Sacred Sites: As Angkor is a sacred site, loud conversation, noises and other inappropriate behaviour in Cambodian culture is considered to be offensive and may disturb other visitors. Please keep calm and be respectful.

  4. Restricted Areas: For your own safety and for the conservation of Angkor, please comply with all signs on the site and be mindful of your steps at all times. Do not climb on loose stones.

  5. Smoking and Littering: As a member of the World Health Organization, Angkor has been a smoke free site since 2012. Smoking cigarettes disturbs others and cigarettes can start bush fires. To protect the environment, please do not smoke and litter.

  6. Candy or Money to Children: Buying items, giving candy or money to children encourages them not to attend school but to beg. If you wish to help the children, please consider donating to a recognized charity.

  7. Monks: Monks are revered and respected. If you want to take pictures, please ask for permission first. Women should not touch nor stand or sit too close to monks.
