This is another great tour experience besides Angkor. Located about 70kms away northeast of Siem Reap town, known as Kulen Mountain and it was the birthplace of the Khmer Empire when King Jayavarman VII proclaimed himself as the Jakravatin( king of the universe) to free the country from Javanese colonization.
We will pick you up from the hotel at 8:00 am to buy the ticket and continue to that mountain. On the way, you would enjoy the scenery of the rural area of Cambodia and some activity of the locals who earn to survive for their living. You can experience the locals making sugar palms and making buckets from rattan.
On the top of the mountain, you can see the river of thousands of Lingas carved inside the stream bed to turn water become sanctified and used for cleansing the body and to use for a special ceremony for the coronation of the king. Continue to see the largest reclining Buddha built in the 16th century by the successor to convert the area from Hindu to Buddhism.
Enjoy swimming into the large waterfall with the hot mid-day.
Do a boat tour of the floating village of Kompong Phluk. Explore the flooded mangrove forest surrounding the area, home to various species, including crab-eating macaques and 3,000 inhabitants. We will then take you to a Buddhist monastery built on an artificial island.
