Description

Take a full day and trek up Kolen Mountain to learn the birth history of Angkor city under the first king who established the capital city in Siem Reap. Located in the northeast of Siem Reap, about 80 km away, it is 40 km long with a 5 km width of 381 m high. See the sites and soak in the history.

    • Pick up from the hotel at 7.30 am. and drive to the mountain.
    • Enroute, stop to see the beautiful paddy rice fields
    • Keep walking bit to see the local countryside market and taste the Khmer Noodle of the most famous village in Siem Reap. 

    • Onward with the journey, arrive at the mountain. 

    • Start trekking up to the top of the mountain on the concrete steps till the midway of the mountain and see the Spring footing Buddha, the most sacred one which the water coming from his foot the whole year-round.

    • Explore more religious sites.

    • Keep trekking on the concrete steps to the top of the mountain.

    • Pass through the big jungle with a local path 2.5 km away and reach the main sites.

    • See the oldest carvings of Hindu Lingams on the water floor, made in 802 AD.

    • Keep trekking along the riverbank to see the sacred holy well

    • Turn back and trek to see the biggest Reclining Buddha AD at 16 century. Be sure to climb up to the top of the big piece of stone to touch some Buddha part. Doing so is considered good luck. 

    • After this, walk through the local village and see more of the people's lives on top of the mountain and reach the waterfall.

    • Be sure to bring your swim trunks for a swim in the water!

    • Eat Lunch. 

    Return to the hotel.

What's Excluded

  • Mountain pass is not included.  It costs 20 $ per person, and if one is under 12 years old, they do not require a mountain pass, but they will have to show their passport at the checkpoint.

  • Lunch is not included but is available easily. You can eat at the restaurant close to the waterfall and gorge on traditional Cambodian food.
