    • Connect with your tour guide at Sant'Apollinare in Classe, to start the program itinerary. The tour will begin at 14:30 or 15:30 or 16:30. 
    • Head to the Tomb of Dante, Arian Baptistery, Holy Spirit Church and Piazza del Popolo.
    • Then, roam across the main square, take a coffee break of 15 minutes and go for a short walk of 15 minutes with a stop at the Byron House.
    • The tour ends up with a visit to the Church of San Vitale, Mausoleum of Galla Placidia and Holy Cross Basilica (one hour visit).

Know before you go
  • It is a walking private guided tour and we have altogether a 1 km stroll starting from Sant'Apollinare Nuovo as far as San Vital. We will stop during the stroll to explain and visit monuments as James did. Ravenna is an open-air museum, a unique city which witnesses the history of the V-VII centuries (Late antiquity) We will have a small refreshment in a cosy coffee shop.
  • It should be advisable to read "Italian Hours" chapter "Ravenna".
  • It is better for a better relaxation to spend a night in Ravenna and I will pick you up  (on foot) if the hotel is within the city centre. Highly recommended to have dinner or lunch in the "Locanda Storica" historical inn  "Antica Trattoria al Gallo 1909".
