- Get picked up by the tour guide at Piramide Train/Metro Station or Hotel.
- Make your way to Ostia, and learn about its history: Founded as one of the first fortified colonies at the end of the Tiber river, probably during the sixth century B. C, it became a river port immediately, acquiring the important commercial function to supply Rome with foodstuff thanks to the ships coming from every part of the Mediterranean Sea. The urban aspect shortly changed, and Ostia became a rich city of 150 acres where more than 50. 000 people lived. At the end of the Roman Empire, the town was abandoned, and the river mud covered it.
- Be amazed by more than 100 years of excavations and rediscovered mosaics, frescoes, and amazing architecture.
- Travel back to the Roman Age as you explore the area: the theatre, baths, public fountains and latrines, barracks of fire brigades, temples of different religions (Capitolium, Temple of Mithras), the Forum and the Guilds square.
- Visit some of the local shops (i.e. bakery, wine bar, laundry) the dwelling.
