Meet your Italian tour guide in front of Saint Marco Church.
The Basilica of San Marco in Florence is a church with many frescoes. In this architecture of high importance, get a chance to see 5 areas: the church, the facade, the convent, the first and the second cloister. The church was originally part of the large complex of San Marco Monastery, where many important representatives of spirituality and fifteenth-century culture lived and worked. These include Cosimo il Vecchio De Medici, St. Antonino, Fra Angelico, Fra Bartolomeo and, above all, Fra Girolamo Savonarola. The death of Savonarola was announced by the famous bell La Piagnona - the crying one, named after the followers of Savonarola who were constantly complaining against the Florentines.
