Explore the ancient mansion Palazzo Davanzati of the Davizzi family, merchants and bankers of Florence, and then the rich Davanzati family. Today, the building houses the Museum of the Ancient Florentine House, and it represents the habits of the aristocracy of the fourteenth and fifteenth century in Florence. It's most interesting feature is the architecture, which is a very diverse example of a 13th century house. It shows the transition from the medieval tower house to the Renaissance style palace. There is an amazing collection of artifacts, furniture and working materials, that have witnessed the change of ownership and the use of certain household items over time. It is a journey of an aristocratic dwelling with kitchen, living rooms, beautifully frescoed rooms and even bathrooms.
