Drive 60 km from Shiraz to Persepolis to see two important monuments of Iran here. Visit the ancient ruins of Persepolis. Spend time here and get familiar with the great Persian empire that chose this area as their ceremonial capital. See the whole complex and then go to other attraction such as ancient tombs of Persian Kings at the Necropolis (burial site). Get to know how the Persian Kings were buried here. Discover the Sassanid relief sculptures at the same place itself.
On the way back to Shiraz, make a short stop to see the Quran gate at the entrance of the city.
