As we were in NewYork for a wedding with many members of our extended family who didn't all know NYC or not much about the city, we thought it a  great idea to walk through Manhattan on our first full day there. The tourHQ guide Stan was prepared to make us a customized itinerary as -being Dutch- we wanted part heritage, part history and part modern highlights and moviescenes. Stan waited for us at Times Square at 9AM in the morning and our group of 18 (all adults) set of on our walk in Mid Town Manhattan. Stan was very knowlegdeable about all the historic sites; the modern buildings and the moviescenes in and around. He was well prepared and had a small speaker with a headphone and microphone for himself so that we could much easier understand his stories and explanations without having to crowd around him. He was very flexible toward our group, when some would lag behind, dip into a shop to buy a drink, ask unexpected and unrelated questions etc. He was very positive and upbeat. Unfortunately, we had chosen a very hot day in NYC, so toward the late afternoon it became more difficult to keep up the pace. We ended at Battery Park on the Southern tip of Manhattan around 5PM, after a very interesting and full day of walking and discovering together with Stan, and we were all completely satisfied and filled with all the new information. Needless to say we were all tired and echausted by the heat! It turned out to be a perfect starting point for all the activities/musea and sights to be seen in the coming days.  Thank you Stan for sharing all your knowledge, your stories and historic insights with our family.  Bep
