Seeing Sicily through Marcello's eyes was the most rewarding adventure we had ever experienced. He is so personable as well as completely knowledgable about his country, its people, its customs, its history and his special surprises that were only his. His personal attention to each and everyone of us was above and beyond what we expected. His stories and anecdotes were more than entertaining. And he can sing too!!! Marcello Torrisi was our guide for a Grand Circle tour of Sicily, Fall 2013. A native of Sicily, his knowledge was complete, and communicated well in perfect English, only slightly accented. His love for his native land and knowledge of its history/geography/culture/etc added to our understanding and appreciation of what we were seeing. He shared his own history and that of his family. He was willing to adjust to the various goals of the group members; I for one like to wander off and take pictures, and he was able to inform me about paths that were not part of the tour, and just give me a time and place to meet. A totally pleasant and likable fellow.
