Salvador tour

We had a great tour with Carlos! He was excellent. His English was very good. We were with our kids 10 and 15 and he did a good job explaining to them the history of Salvador. We highly recommend him for groups or families.

We had a fantastic tour of the old city of Salvador with Carlos. The hotel pick up went smoothly and traveling by van was great for our large party with children. Carlos is extremely knowledgeable and we leaned so much about this fascinating city. He also was very adaptable which was greatly appreciated when our kids needed a much deserved ice cream break. I would highly recommended this tour and Carlos.

Salvador City Tour

Reviewed March 24, 2023

My wife and I hired Carlos for a city tour of Salvador spread over a couple of days. From the beginning, communication with Carlos was excellent, and he was extremely flexible in accommodating our needs and interests. He picked us up from the airport and we spent the first day driving to some of the the main sites such as the Barro do Farol and Bonfim. Carlos has an incredible knowledge not just of the city's history and culture but also about the croader context of Brazil and its role in the global economy. He also does not overwhelm you with facts and numbers but allows for leisurely breaks like a seaside cafe or a famous ice-cream parlor. The second day was a walking-tour in the old part of the city with in-depth visits of the Pelourinho, the Cathedral and the Franciscan Church, where Carlos once more impressed us with his ability to communicate important and interesting architectural and historical aspects. Throughout these two days he also took good care of our well-being (hydration, safety, stops, etc.). Last but not least he drove us to the airport at 4am (!) in the morning, which was yet another expression of his dedication and care. In sum, an extraordinary guide and person!
