Amazing Egypt tour experience with Mohamed

Reviewed March 29, 2026

My wife, sister-in-law, her partner, and I had the pleasure of touring Egypt with Mohamed this February, and we spent four incredible days with him. Our trip started in Aswan with a visit to Philae Temple, followed by an early morning trip to Abu Simbel before boarding our cruise and stopping at Kom Ombo. From there, we visited Edfu, Luxor Temple, and then wrapped up with the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Karnak, and the Colossi of Memnon before heading to the airport for our flight to Cairo. Mohamed was an absolutely phenomenal guide. Having him with us truly made the entire trip. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Egypt and its history. At each site, he gave us context beforehand so we knew exactly what we were looking at, often turning it into a fun kind of scavenger hunt as we explored. Since guides aren’t always allowed inside the temples, we’d take pictures and then go back to him afterward, and he’d walk us through everything we saw. It made the experience so much more meaningful. There were so many highlights, but one of the biggest was how seamless he made everything. While other groups were waiting in line, Mohamed already had our tickets ready and got us right in. Our private driver was always perfectly on time, and he even handled meals off the boat. He was also incredibly flexible. on our last day, he managed to fit in an extra temple and took us to an amazing rooftop restaurant overlooking Luxor. What really stood out most was Mohamed’s enthusiasm. We asked a lot of questions, and he answered every one of them with patience and genuine excitement. One of my favorite moments was in the Valley of the Kings. We found a shady spot and spent about 30 minutes as he walked us through ancient Egyptian religious practices and what daily life was like for the people who built the tombs. It was just such a great conversation and stands out as a highlight of the trip. He also did an amazing job tailoring things to our interests. I was especially curious about the Sea Peoples and the Bronze Age collapse, and he actually took us to a temple where those events are depicted. He translated the hieroglyphics for us and explained not just what happened, but how it connects to the broader arc of history, even up to today. That was such a cool moment. If you’re planning a trip to Egypt, I honestly can’t recommend Mohamed enough. He made our experience so much richer and more memorable than it would have been otherwise. Thank you, Mohamed!

Insightful and educative Luxor Tour with Mohamed

Reviewed February 17, 2026

Mohamed was our tour guide in January 2026 for a two and a half days trip to Luxor. We initially reached out to him via whatsapp to discuss what we'd like to do and he provided very reasonable guidance on how to maximize our time. Arriving in Luxor, we met Mohamed in our hotel lobby from where he took us on our tour to Karnak and Luxor temple on the first day and to the artisan valley, valley of the kings and Hatchepsut temple on day two. The tour was organized very well and Mohamed arranged transport, enough water and lunch breaks. Mohamed is an expert in egyptology and his first hand experience in restoring artifacts was very valuable. He provided extended background information on numerous occasions when we asked him about specific aspects of the temples, society or religion of ancient Egypt. As a fluent reader of hieroglyphs he taught us the basic structure of the language and what to look for when exploring the ruins and art on our own. His passion for the ancient culture can be felt in any interaction. I can highly recommend Mohamed as your local guide in Luxor. He will help to accommodate your plans (ask him for a balloon ride) and can give restaurant recommendations.

Reviewed February 11, 2026

I toured Luxor with Mohamed Zaky and it was quite amazing. I’d been there before, but he took me to some new sites that I hadn’t seen. I saw the workers tombs at Deir-el-Madina, the Ramesseum, and Medinet Habu. Mohamed was extremely knowledgeable, even reading some of the hieroglyphs to me. He knew important stories on every site. I highly recommend him to anybody going to Luxor.

Outstanding Guide in Aswan & Luxor – Highly Recommended

Reviewed February 11, 2026

We spent four days with Mohamed – two in Aswan and two in Luxor – and he was an exceptional guide from start to finish. Mohamed is incredibly knowledgeable, but what really sets him apart is the way he shares that knowledge. His explanations were engaging, clear, and full of stories and context that brought each site to life. He translated hieroglyphs for us, explained the history in a way that felt accessible rather than overwhelming, and answered every question with patience and depth. He was also fantastic with our 8-year-old son, keeping him involved and interested throughout. That made a huge difference to our experience as a family. Everything was extremely well planned and Mohamed was always reliable and organised. He also went above and beyond by helping with recommendations and arrangements for other parts of our trip, even when he wasn’t officially guiding us. That extra level of care made the whole journey smooth and stress-free. A particular highlight for me was an unexpected stop at the Crocodile Temple on our drive from Aswan to Luxor — a great example of Mohamed tailoring the experience and adding value beyond the itinerary. Our day in Aswan on the Nile, visiting Elephantine Island and having lunch at the Karnak Hotel, was one of the standout days of the entire trip. Mohamed is professional, dependable, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him to anyone visiting Egypt.
